Making Everyday Count

76 days, 1 hour, 40 mins, and 09 seconds until I can start my mission papers.  (But who's counting, right?)  It feels like I have waited FOREVER and I am so close!  I cannot wait until I can serve the Lord on a mission and do His work, just a few more months!  I will miss so many things at home and I have learned that I need to make everyday count.  Recently, I have tried to live more in the moment and really focus on things that matter most in life.  I have so many fun things I want to do before I leave, this is my list!

Pre-Mission Activities
-Build a fort and sleep in it
-Continue 'the Breakfast Club' with Mom every Saturday
-Go to the Temple more often
-Go on a spontaneous trip
-Go to the cabin
-Do something courageous
-Read the Book of Mormon
-Fall in Love
-Finish studying Preach My Gospel
-Family photo shoot
-Write my name on the wall at The Pie
-Cut my hair (?) -yikes!

-Road trip
-Camping
-Skiing

-Tell someone you love them, and have them say it back
-Go on fun dates
-Go to the Philippines
-Plan farewell

To start my list off right, I went skiing for the first time Thursday!  McKinley, Ashley, Kadi, and Mika took me up to Park City for a great time.  It was super stormy and windy the day we went up and we were on our last run of the day and I lost control and zipped right past McKinley going probably 60 mph down the mountain.  (McKinley thinks otherwise but she didn't have enough time to pull out her speedometer, so we will just stick with 60.)  It was terrifying and I was screaming and flailing my arms thinking I was about to die.  (Haha, I'm serious. Death was probably a 99.9% chance at this point in time)
Anyway, after saying a fast prayer, the mountain went flat and I was able to 'pizza' my skis like crazy and FINALLY came to a stop.  The experience was so exhausting I just fell to the ground.  A few seconds later McKinley came up to me and said that she thought I was going to die or break my back!  After we made sure that I was still breathing, we started laughing uncontrollably.
McKinley thought the situation was so hilarious she decided to laugh the whole way down the mountain and even to the car.  I told her that I was so scared I peed my pants.  She just laughed even harder at me, and I said, "No, really.  Can we go home now?"
Yup. I legitimately peed myself.  I can laugh at myself now, but it honestly was traumatizing.
I was so thankful that I lived through the scariest thing that ever happened to me... and got a good story out of it. :)

On top of the world!

Sooo happy. :)

Moving Out & On

Like I said, 2014 is full of changes.  The first big change I decided to make this year was to move out. As of yesterday, I am officially moved out of my Mom's house and moved into the Delta Gamma house!  Campus is literally right across the street and let's face it, I just moved in into the best house on Greek Row with 17 of the best girls!

My Kate Spade bed spread $30 at Home Goods!

I share a room with three other girls and they are McCall, Olivia, and Sydney.  McCall is my bunkmate and we did our very first "Roomie Date Night" last night to the Melting Pot!  My boss rewarded me earlier this week with money to go out to my favorite restaurant and have a night out with someone I love.  We had a night full of laughter and fun and met some pretty hilarious waiters too.  (Hence the picture below.)
The waiters made a picture for us to decode, after talking about The O.C., of course.

Since this is my last semester at the U for awhile, I really wanted to have the full experience and make it a semester to remember. I can't believe time is going by so quickly.  Am I really old enough to be in college, to move out, to go on a mission?!
My view this morning :)
UPDATE ON PALEO: Not sure if my scale is broken or not, but I have lost three pounds!  I'm not looking to lose a bunch of weight, just wanting to get my butt in shape... haha

New Year's Resolutions?

My thoughts exactly, ha!
Happy 2014!  I cannot believe it's 2014 already... It's too soon.  2014 almost sound futuristic to me?! However, I have been waiting for this year for awhile now mainly because this is the year I get to serve the Lord! Only 86 more days and I will be able to start my papers.  That's in a few months from now though, so what do I do with myself until then?  Make a New Year's resolution of course!

Alright, admit it, we've all made a resolution before and have definitely not stuck with it.  I am guilty of this, many times!  This year though, I really want to get in shape for summer and before I leave for a year and a half.  A friend of mine told me about this crazy (I hate this word, I really do, just think of it more along the lines of "healthy" ok, here it comes) ....diet.  It's called the 'Paleo Diet' also referred to as the 'Caveman Diet'.  In another words, if a caveman couldn't eat it, neither can you.  So mainly only fruits, veggies, and meats.  Absolutely no grain, dairy, or sweets.  Fun right?  To make matters even worse, they expect you to workout on top of this. HA!  Well, I'm not going to lie, it isn't easy!  I am on day three and haven't cheated once.  (Which is huge considering I have a serious addiction to anything sweet, especially chocolate.)  I have been keeping track of my body fat percentage and my weight, although mainly, I just want to be healthy and get toned. Haha, I don't care so much about numbers.  I am planning on updating my progress on the blog. Plus, I've always wanted a before and after picture!

BIG changes are going to be coming this year and I am so excited for what's in store!

Out With The Old, In With The New!

Well, we did it!
I have officially graduated from Skyline High, class of 2013.  High school treated me well but it was time to get out and move onto bigger and better things!

A special thank you to this woman for always having faith in me!
Love you momma. <3 span="">

Then summer came and went... too fast for my taste, but it was hands down thee best summer of my life. I had the opportunity to go on a humanitarian trip to the Philippines for a month and the experience changed my life. I went with an organization called Reaching Out Worldwide (ROW) and we taught 4th, 5th, and 6th graders, built sinks, a cafeteria, gardens, and a pond. Filipinos are so sincere and hard working. The people of Antique have touched my hearts more than I could've ever imagines and will be remembered forever. I cannot express enough how much good Reaching Out Worldwide does.  It blesses the people back at home in Utah; by having us do community service and doing creative things to fundraise in order to make this trip possible. It blesses the people of Antique; the community has been more than helpful and you can see in their eyes how truly grateful they are. Last but not least, it blesses my own life. I have learned what hard work truly is, that service makes a life changing impact, and that I can make the best of friends worldwide. Mabuhay!

After applying to the University of Utah three times, I finally did it correctly and got my acceptance letter! Phew! I started at the U this fall and have been having the time of my life. I have (as of now) decided that I want to major in business and go to dental school to become either a general dentist or an orthodontist.
I was very involved in high school, and with cheer now in my past I needed a way to continue doing something I loved now at the University. So, I went Greek. Delta Gamma to be exact! Ever since I stepped foot inside the Deeg I knew it was a place I could call home. There is a good variety of girls in the house and I have learned to love each and every single one of them. I didn't grow up with any sisters, but suddenly now I have 120 of them! My pledge class is awesome and I cannot wait for all the memories to come in next few years! ITB<3 font="">
